Fostering Saves Lives.

Period.

That is the bottom line. Fostering saves the life of the animal you foster and the life of another animal waiting for that spot in the shelter.

We are entirely foster based with the exception of our in store locations, which are limited to a handful of spaces. In order for us to say Yes when our local shelters ask for help, or when life circumstances force a family to rehome their beloved pet, or when we get a call about a cat thrown outside in dire circumstances we need YOU to open your home and heart. It only takes a space as small as a bathroom and a little bit of TLC to foster. We provide the rest!

While fostering for PAR we provide all necessary medical care and facilitate the adoption. For most of our fosters, providing the food and litter for the fostered pet themselves is the easiest way. But don't forget these expenses are tax deductible donations! We do ask you to bring your fostered pet to any adoption events and to send us all the amazing photos clogging up your phone! We use these photos and anecdotes to showcase our adoptable cats on social media.

As a foster, you do have the option to "foster fail" - which means adopting your foster. We understand sometimes you fall in love and it’s a match that’s meant to be!

Agreements

Do you agree that you are responsible for food, litter, and anything extra such as treats, beds, etc.?

Do you understand that PAR provides all vet care, but in an emergency situation you agree to notify us if you choose to take an animal to a vet and pay for it yourself, and in return will be reimbursed or given a tax receipt (your choice).

Do you agree that if you no longer wish to foster, you will return the animal to Passport Animal Rescue?

Do you acknowledge and agree that fostering an animal is by no means an adoption and the animal can be moved and/or reclaimed at any time. Fosters have first choice of adoption, but none is final until an adoption contract is signed.
